The examination will be held in two phases i.e. Objective Examination and Group Discussion & Interview. The candidates who are shortlisted after Objective Examination will have to appear for GD-PI round.
Phase-I: Objective Examination:
Objective Examination for 200 marks is conducted. The test contains 4 sections with a composite timing of 2 hours (i.e. no sectional time limit). The mode of exam is online. The questions are in English and Hindi both (except English Language Section). There is negative marking for wrong answers (1/4th of total marks allotted for that question).
Objective Exam Pattern (2018):
Category wise merit list is drawn on the basis of aggregate marks scored in this exam. Normally candidates numbering approximately 3 times the number of vacancies are shortlisted for the next round (GD & PI).
|Section||No. of questions||Maximum Mark|
Phase – II: Group Discussion (50 marks) & Interview (50 marks):
In Group Discussion, normally a topic or task is given and participating candidates are supposed to discuss the topic or complete the task assigned. Interviews are conducted for individual candidates. A panel of 4-5 evaluators interviews a candidate to evaluate her/his personality, skills, and suitability for the job and organisation. The whole process takes around 3-5 hours depending upon the number of candidates and the panel. The minimum qualifying marks for GD and PI is 40% for General candidates and 35% for Reserved category candidates. If a candidate fails to secure the minimum qualifying marks in this round, then she/he will not be considered for final selection irrespective of the marks scored in Objective Test.
The marks of both Phase I and Phase II are considered. The weightage (ratio) of Objective Exam, GD and Interview is 50:20:30 respectively. The final merit list is decided on the basis of this weighted score.
