Emoluments:
The basic pay is Rs. 14435 per month in the scale of in the scale of Rs. 14435-840(1)-15275-915(2)-17105-1030(5)-22255-1195(2)-24645-1455(3)-29010-1510(2)-32030-1610(5)-40080 along with other admissible allowances as per rules. Other benefits are Defined Contributory Pension, Special Allowance for passing Actuarial Examination, Gratuity, LTC, Cash Medical Benefit, Group Mediclaim, Group Personal Accident Insurance, Group Insurance , Vehicle Loan (2 wheeler/4 wheeler) as per rules.

The total vacancies in LIC-Assistant 2019 were 7941.
Exam date and registration:
In 2019, the registration started in the month of September and the exams were scheduled between October-December.
Essential academic qualifications and experience:
Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the central government.
Candidate should have the knowledge of the Official language of the State for which he is submitting the application. Selected candidates are required to prove their knowledge of the Official language of the respective States, before joining.
Age and number of attempts:
General candidates should not be below 18 years and should not be above 30 years. There are provisions for category based age relaxation according to existing government norms.
Any eligible candidate, who aspires to join Life Insurace Corporation (LIC) as an Assistant, is required to register online for the Recruitment Process. The examination is held in 2 phases i.e. Prelims and Mains . The candidates who are shortlisted after prelims are called for mains.
Phase-I: Prelims
Online examination consisting of Objective test for 100 marks is conducted. The test contains 3 Sections with a composite time of 1 hour (with separate timings for each section). The mode of exam is online. The questions are in English and Hindi both. English/ Hindi Language is qualifying in nature. The marks obtained in this section are be considered for the ranking.

Shortlisting of candidates for LIC Assistant Mains exam will be done on the basis of the marks secured in Section 2 and 3 of the Prelims exam. Approximately 20 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.
Phase – II: Mains
Online examination consisting of Objective test for 200 marks is conducted. The test contains 5 Sections with a composite time of 2 hours 30 minutes. The mode of exam is online. There is negative marking for every wrong answer -(1/4 of the mark).

Final selection
The marks obtained in the Mains examination only will be considered for final selection. Candidate must obtain minimum qualifying marks in each section separately and also obtain minimum marks in the aggregate as decided by the Corporation to qualify in the examinations (Prelims and Mains).
The knowledge of the Official language of the State/ UT under which the Division for which candidate has applied, falls, will be tested by administering a qualifying test of 25 marks. A candidate has to secure minimum 10 marks (9 marks for SC/ST/PwBD) to qualify the test.
After the announcement of LIC Assistant Mains Exam, the candidates will be shortlisted for Pre-Recruitment Medical Exam. Candidates who are found to be medically fit will be offered the appointment for the post of LIC Assistant.
